Nerds... Not!

January 1

I got this diary from my parents on Christmas, and I waited until the start of the new year to start it. I'm gonna try to keep writing in here all year, though I don't know how well I'm gonna do on it. I haven't been very good at journals and diaries in the past. OK, first things first. I'm 12 years old, I live in Duluth, Minnesota. I have elbow length SUPER thick brown hair. I have an older brother, Peter (he's 21 and in college), a younger sister, Rachel (she's 8) and a dog, Pal. I'm homeschooled. I'm a nerd. What else is there that I should put down? Well, I have 2 (I know, nerdy, I mean, I have 2 friends?!) friends. One, I've known all  my life and her name is Julie and she's 13. The other I've known since I was 7, and her name is Joyce and she's 13, too. That seems like all there is about me.

Hi...Oh, another thing I forgot to say about me is that I go to Fredenburg Community Chapel for church. This morning I was doing the dishes (we don't have a dishwasher, it stinks), and Rachel was just sitting and "practicing for my drawing class", as she says. She has a drawing class starting in the middle of FEBRUARY. Not in a few days, or even a  few weeks. like a month & a half away! Uggh, but that's not as bad as her excitement about camp. She gets to go to camp for the first time this year, and in December she made a packing list. And she made it on her white board, so she wouldn't lose the paper that she wrote it on. Since then, she's re-written the list 3 times (since it's gotten smudged up by her going over it with her finger atleast two times a day), and drawn what the inside of her backpack will look like. I mean, she drew  every single shirt, pair of shorts, scrunchie, etc. Ya, she's weird. Aren't all little kids that age weird?!? Well...sounds like mom wants me to go do the dishes. Seeya!

Hi......So much for writing in here every day. Today, at church, my mom was talking to Mrs. Maclay, and she got talking about schoolwork (Maclays homeschool also), and she got talking about how I can spell. Last year, my mom even tried to put together a spelling bee to prove to the rest of the world that I can spell (OK, maybe not exactly for that reason, but that's my theory). I lost on the word "mosquitoes". It turns out that there are two ways to spell it, and I spelled it the way that they didn't have.  I don't have any friends (well, 2), so I was waiting for her to be done chatting. Well, I mean, why does she have to tell the rest of the world what I'm good at and what I'm not good at?!? Oh whatever. I'm gonna go eat supper. Bye!

Ya. So much for writing in here every day. Maybe I'll be able to write in here really often? I think so. Well...What's been happening, huh? Hmmm...nothing. Absolutely NOTHING. We don't even get to get outside. We have to stay inside and SEW. I mean, it's 40 degrees out (talk about warm! I know, I live in Duluth), and I have to stay inside and SEW. Wow...my life is SUPER boring. Well, whatever.......

January 11

Wow, I'm not doing very well at writing an entry in here every day, am I? umm, what's been happening lately...Well, we went to an interesting  museum on Thursday. Well, it was a ship really. The William A. Irvin S.S. It's a ship with a museum in it. It was an ore boat that went out into Lake Superior and took iron ore off the bottom and scooped it into the holding chambers that took up most of the area of the ship. It's dark in those holding chambers! Well anyway, sometimes people that were helping to fund it, would come aboard and see what they were paying for. So the ship was kinda fancy at the same time as being industrial! Like, the engine room had gold hand rails on the stairways. And on the top on the ship, next to the tops of the holding chambers, was a kind of ship of itself, just for the people that were pretty much being treated like royalty. It had bathrooms, a kitchen, bedrooms, everything! It was really cool. There's a pretty good Wiki article about, and mom says I have to do a report thing about it. So I'm writing the name of the article down for that report. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_A_Irvin

I think that's all that's been going on...

My mom thinks everything I do on the internet is stupid. I go on there because we don't get out much, and I want some interaction with other people. She knows that, and understands it, but at the same time she thinks it's stupid. I really don't understand how that's possible, but with her it is. Uggh, mothers. Well anyway, moving on... yesterday I went to a Bulldogs game. They're a lacrosse team. It was fun, even though I usually don't do sports. Oh, I think I have to go. Bye

January 17

Well, absolutely nothing has been going on lately. Except that in a few days mom says we're going to take a few weeks off from school so that we can make crafts to sell at this craft fair that we're going to. I wrote up instructions for a crochet project I made, and I'm gonna sell those there, and stuff. I gotta go like RIGHT now. bye.

It's Monday. I don't really do the "I hate Monday" thing. Sure, it's the start of the work week, but, I don't really mind that much. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I don't work, but I do do schoolwork. Maybe it's because I don't go to school. Maybe public-schooled kids hate Monday. I really don't care. The days that I don't like are my dishes days. That means it's my turn to do the dishes all day, since we don't have a dishwasher. Uggh. But that doesn't really mean that I want the kitchen to be torn up for who knows how long while we would put a dishwasher, either! Well, Rachel is being her normal annoying self, as always. Sure, I love her, but... She can be annoying. If you have a sister, or if you know an 8-year-old girl, you probably know what I mean.  Well, that's enough for today. You can probably notice that I'm pretty bored today by the fact that I wrote all this. Seeya

Nothing really interesting has been happening. I've been thinking about something. My mom thinks that chiropractic is the great cure-all of health care. I disagree. I obey her, but in matters of opinion I disagree. I just don't buy it. Sure, chiropractors are great for stuff like when you have a car accident and your bones are kinda out of whack. But having it be the great-cure all of health care, that I don't buy. Well, that's all I have to say about that. I can't think of anything to say, other than that. I've been trying to think of other ways to say "seeya" at the end of my entries. I googled it, and it says that in German it's "auf wiedersehen". So, I guess, auf wiedersehen!

January 23

Hey, I actually am doing an entry two days in a row. How weird is that. Well, I can't think of much to say, other than that my life is boring.  I can't thing of anything to say... Bye

January 25

I'm REALLY bored. Of life. Of everything. I want to do something, to have "my thing". But  I can't find any hobbies that work for me. Nothing, I mean nothing, works. I'm really bored. Well, I should probably go do... something. Auf wiedersehen...
